The New Zune

When analyzing the visual rhetoric of the zune web site I noticed several interesting aspects that drawn to my intention. First of all they use sharp contrasting images that give the page a glossy smooth look. It makes it seem like its futuristic and new. The objects in the picture are artistically balanced with the larger objects in writing on the outer perimeter and with lines that draw to a center focal point. The center focal point is using bright colors. This creates an eye appeal to convey the perceived message. The message is very simple which makes it easier to understand with the first glance. The object is to help you realize the different accessories that are available with the zune. One of the images is displaying an AM FM radio. The one next to it is displaying a play list of different CD’s. It’s showing an album cover of the black-eyed pees, so it’s probably going for a younger crowd. Another image is showing a bright colored animated kids movie, so it’s showing that you can watch movies on it. The last image is showing a menu page of all the different options that are available in the new zune. Finally, the main title presenting the name of the product in a rainbow color, giving it a sleek psychedelic feel.

The advertisement is well designed with a lot of eye-appeal to attract the targeted audience. In my opinion they succeeded in their goal.
