When I visited the scientology website the very first thing that I noticed about the website is the that they have a cross instead of a 't' in the title of their website. I think that is important because people who don't know about scientology might automatically be turned off by the term from a lack of understanding. They may assume that they don't believe in Christ just from the very name, but they make sure to make that stand out with the cross in the title.
This website also addresses further issues about what Scientology is, by stating on the left side of their website what they believe. They also have seven sections at the bottom of the webpage that give you more evidence that what they believe in is not far-fetched, or strange. The name itself is not commonly heard of, and as I stated before, it's hard to guess what they believe in. They are very upfront in what issues they would like to address. They do support many traditional beliefs.
I also believe that the blue color they chose for their website was a good one as blue is often known for relaxing people. They don't only use it for their website, but they use it at the end of each commercial and it gives off a very relaxed feeling. Their ads are also very appealing. They are able to sum up, in a poetic way, life. They present it in such a real, human, living and incredible way that it draws you in and makes you want to learn more. They claim to have the truth, and they present real problems that everyone is dealing with, and how you can be united in Scientology. The ads do not look like they were set up, they look natural. They look like scenes that could be very well present in your own life, which I think is a large part of the appeal.
