scientology.org

When you first enter the Scientology website, you notice an emphasis that Scientology is a religion. They have tried to give the impression that they're a normal organization for everyone. Where the word Scientology is used, the words "Official Church of" or "Church of" is placed in front. Again, this tells me they are really trying to state that they are a church and not weird the way they are often perceived. The logo which uses a cross instead of a "t" in the name Scientology, tells me that they're a Christian religion.

The colours used on the website are mostly blues. Blues are cool, calm colours that give an effect of tranquility. The space is used wisely, it is not overly crowded but they manage to put a lot of information on the homepage. For example, there is a video at the center of the page which is clearly what they want you to look at. It introduces the religion and tries to get you to have an open mind when going through the rest of the website. There is a column giving an overview of what scientology actually is for those who don’t know, and the founders name is visible. With all of this they are trying to make themselves reputable.
