looking beyond the image
the first day when we sat together as a class discussing different advertisements everybody had their own input and i was struggling. i was like, "how did they come up with that?" and "my mind doesn't work that way" and "you are over analyzing that." then i realized that is was advertisements are about, to make you think, and also to persuade you to buy their product. when we got assigned this essay i was like oh great this is going to be really hard for me. then i found my advertisement and really studied it. i started to notice things which totally changed my perspective on the advertisement. for example colors, the colors that the company uses has a big roll in ad. totally using pathos, colors to play with our emotions. it showed me that a lot of thought goes into the preparation of an advertisement. as i have looked through magazines and driven past billboards i now studied them and analyze them. it has opened my eyes to find out what story the advertiser is trying to tell us!
