Nike.com
The site that I browsed and observed the visual rhetoric was nike.com. Each different page creates pathos and ethos. The sports pages for example basketball, soccer and football all had emotions of excitement and energy for the game. They showed professional players wearing the Nike brand and different quotes flashing about how you can “start your season strong, train like a pro”. Using professional players wearing the Nike brand promotes quality and allows the person to feel that their sports performance will increase and that they could even be like the professional player. Wearing the Nike brand will enhance your game play and only the Nike clothing and shoes fit the needs of the sport. There are many different links on the Nike website that have different colors, quotes, writing text and pictures depending on what the link is about. For example there is a women’s section and it is full of bright colors, bright shoes and clothing and women in shape. It portrays good health, states that women too can play sports and if they wear the Nike brand they have power and strength just like the men. The Nike website fulfills a purpose that makes the person want to buy the products and become great athletes. It promotes a healthy style of living by working out. The website uses the right amount of strategies to get their point across to the person looking at the site. It makes the person looking at the website want to wear Nike brand and become strong and powerful by playing a sport.
